Rodrygo Goes and Toni Kroos will start for Real Madrid again on Wednesday when they play SC Braga at the Santiago Bernabeu.
When Real Madrid plays SC Braga at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night, they will be trying to secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16. And Carlo Ancelotti is having trouble getting ready for his team’s next game because of a new injury worry.
Jude Bellingham hurt his shoulder in the La Liga game against Rayo Vallecano over the weekend. But Ferland Mendy is healthy and ready to go after getting over a small problem. But Dani Ceballos is still not available and won’t be in the group for the midweek game.
Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao, and Aurelien Tchouameni are also Real Madrid players who have been out for a long time. During his pre-game news conference, Ancelotti gave an update on Bellingham’s fitness but did not say for sure if he would be available.
“I don’t know if he’ll play,” he said. Because he worked out today, he’s fine. He is back to normal and felt good in every move he made. I’ll talk to him about it tomorrow.”
Since Ancelotti knows Real Madrid will almost certainly make it to the Round of 16, he might not put Bellingham at risk. That the Englishman wasn’t picked could mean that the home team changes formations, going from a 4-4-2 middle diamond to a standard 4-3-3.
In the middle of the field, Toni Kroos, Eduardo Camavinga, and Luka Modric will play with Toni Kroos for the first time in a Real Madrid game. In terms of the attack, Federico Valverde will play on the right side, where he did so regularly last season.
He will be an extra right winger, but for the home team, he will mostly play as a right midfielder. Rodrygo Goes will start in place of Joselu as the center striker when the team comes back to the field. Vinicius Junior, on the other hand, might be glad to get back to his favorite position on the left wing.
Lastly, the defense should stay the same, even though Ferland Mendy will be ready to play against SC Braga. This means that Fran Garcia will stay at left back and Dani Carvajal will continue to play on the right side. One should be in goal, and the other should be between the sticks. Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba should be the two center defenders.
This is how the Real Madrid team is expected to play: Kepa; Carvajal; Rudiger; Alaba; Garcia; Kroos; Camavinga; Modric; Valverde; Rodrygo; Vinicius Jr.
