Fans call West Ham’s Tomas Soucek a ‘HERO’ for stepping in to help a Crystal Palace ball boy in danger after LED screen collapsed at Selhurst Park😍😍

There was a scary moment at Selhurst Park on Saturday when West Ham United beat Crystal Palace 2-0.

It happened right after Tomas Soucek scored the game’s first goal in the 67th minute.

Soucek and his teammates ran over to the Hammers fans to share their joy. While everyone was celebrating, though, a bunch of fans fell to the pitch when an LED screen for ads gave way.

It was scary when a piece of the screen fell on top of a Crystal Palace ball boy and his clothes seemed to stick to it.

When Soucek realised there was danger, he quickly stopped celebrating and used his strength to free the boy. Jarrod Bowen then helped the boy get up.

Bowen gave the boy a hug, and then Soucek went to check on him too.

The boy looked shaken up as he was taken away by stadium security.

To help the Hammers get their first win under new boss Julen Lopetegui, Bowen scored the game’s second goal.

People who follow Soucek on social media were quick to praise what he did.

Someone wrote, “Soucek is a true hero for keeping that ballboy from getting crushed.”

Someone else wrote, “Tomas Soucek.” Hero for scoring a goal.

The worrying moment occurred just seconds after Soucek had scored the game's first goal

A third message said, “Congratulations to Tommy Soucek for spotting the danger as a ball boy fell under the advertising barrier while West Ham celebrated the second goal.”

It was fair that West Ham won on Saturday, but they missed a few chances before Soucek finally broke the tie.

Indeed, the Hammers missed the goal 12 times in a row before Soucek was able to shoot past Dean Henderson.
