Antony, a failed Manchester United player, got a large tattoo of himself on his back honoring his Ajax goals. Fans are outraged about this.
Bruno Lopes, a tattoo artist, shared a photo of the 24-year-old Brazilian winger getting the tattoo on Instagram.
In 2022, he scored a late goal against Feyenoord to secure the Eredivisie. This photo shows him celebrating.
That goal was crucial for Erik ten Hag’s Ajax club, which defeated Manchester United by two points to win the title.
Ten Hag then joined Manchester United in the summer of 2015, and Antony moved there for £85.5 million from Ajax.
Off-field claims, on the other hand, ruined his good start to this term.
Since then, he hasn’t done well. In 38 games, he’s only scored three goals and set up one, and only one of those goals was in the Premier League.
He was seen having a temper tantrum against Liverpool, and he did it again when he was moved to left back in the loss to Arsenal.
Someone also said mean things about Antony after United beat Coventry on penalties to get to the FA Cup Final, where they will play Man City on May 25.
Even though they are only in eighth place, the Red Devils’ season has been terrible all around. They are on track for their worst Premier League finish ever.
They have lost 19 games in all competitions, which is the most since the 1978–79 season, and puts them in danger of not making it to European football at all.
United plays Newcastle tonight at Old Trafford. They also want to escape losing their tenth home game of the season, which would be a record.
People who were mad at Antony quickly jumped into the comments after pictures of him getting his tattoo showed up on Instagram.
One fan who saw the pictures on social media said, “More tattoos than good games.”
Sixth said, “Man got himself a tattoo.”
Someone else joked, “Who has their own face tattooed on them?” with laughing emojis.
One of the worst comments said, “No passion for football at all; would rather draw tattoos than play football and be focused on your upcoming games.”
“This is the best thing ever; I can’t believe Manchester United has players like this.”
The attacker has tattoos all over his back that were done by Lopes. The tattoos honor Lopes’s childhood in the poor Brazilian favelas.
In a nod to that, the tattoo shows him celebrating his Ajax goal while looking out over a place that looks like his old house.
