After playing well in matches against Brazil and Belgium in March, it was his first time playing for his country.

Some fans think he should start England’s first game on Sunday against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen.

But Gareth Southgate has a lot of midfielders he can choose from to play with Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is now thought to be the most likely candidate to play that part in England’s first Euros game.

There are also Conor Gallagher and Adam Wharton as options. Bellingham could also drop lower to make room for Phil Foden to play at No. 10.
