Courtois had a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee on August 10, 2023. Following that, he began his recovery, which was abruptly ended on March 19 due to an inner meniscus tear that he had incurred in his right knee. He returned from both injuries on the pitch against Cádiz on May 4, the day Real Madrid won their 36th La Liga championship. After one month, he finished the Wembley final, lifted the Decimoquinta, and added the cherry to his motivational story of overcoming injury.
