ο»Ώο»Ώο»ΏJude and Jobe Bellingham, two football players for Real Madrid and Sunderland, have given a huge gift that could save lives. It will pay for three Community Public Access Defibrillators to be put up outside of three schools in Birmingham.
The Community First Responder (CFR) charity Fastaid got the donation. The defibrillators will be given to the schools in collaboration with Jude, Jobe, and the West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS).
In cardiac arrest, it is very important to start CPR and use a defibrillator to try to get the heart beating again. The chances of life drop by 10% every minute that goes by. Giving people in the neighborhood more defibrillators to use could save more lives.
Tim Cronin, CMR Manager for WMAS, said, “This is an amazing act of kindness from Jude and Jobe that will save lives in the areas where the defibrillators are placed.” You should never forget how important good CPR and quick defibrillation are.
“The world watched as football player Christian Eriksen had a cardiac arrest on the field during Euro 2020. Thanks to quick CPR and the use of a defibrillator, he is still alive and playing football at the highest level today.”
The given defibrillators will be used by both the school and the people in the area. Once they are set up, they will be added to the Circuit, which is the national network of defibrillators. If a person calls 999, the person who answers will be able to tell them which defibrillator is closest to the emergency.
