Although Jurgen Klopp, the former manager of Liverpool, has revealed that he has joined a different kind of club, it is unlikely that he is currently searching for a new team.
Less than a month after his tearful departure, Klopp made his way back to Anfield on Thursday night to watch a Taylor Swift concert.
Jurgen Klopp attended Taylor Swift’s concert on Thursday and announced himself to be a Swiftie.
The pop sensation brought her Eras Tour to Merseyside as part of her UK tour. Not surprisingly, Klopp and his wife Ulla were able to get some seats to the stadium where he was known as the boss for more than a decade.
Klopp said he was Taylor ready but not tailor-made when he announced earlier in the day on Instagram that he would be attending the concert.
The German then shared part of his night out’s content on social media.
Using one of Swift’s signature pink cowboy hats, Klopp posted a photo of himself along with the caption, “I guess I am officially a Swiftie.”
The 56-year-old said, “what a great night!” in a photo he took with the stage in the background. When Klopp took command of his farewell match, a 2-0 victory over Wolves in May, he waved goodbye to the Reds faithful, setting off tearful scenes among the supporters. He’s returned to the place he once called his, ready to take some time off, after unwinding overseas with his wife Ulla and acclimating to life away from the Reds after nine years in leadership. The German disclosed to Liverpool employees last month, during an hour-long Q&A session, that Ulla had bought tickets for the two to see Swift’s Eras Tour at his old home stadium. This information was reported by The Athletic.
Last month, Klopp disclosed that Ulla (third right) had purchased tickets for them to attend.
Less than a month after leaving Anfield, Klopp revealed he enjoyed a “great night” there.
The story claims that Klopp made the announcement in response to a question about what music he enjoys to listen to when he has some free time away from football.
He is reported to have started singing in front of the audience, covering Swift’s “Shake It Off,” after responding to the question.
Before relocating to Liverpool, Swift was performing in Edinburgh. This Thursday marks her debut performance in the city.
During the UK leg of her Eras Tour, the pop sensation visited Merseyside.
Following her three Friday, Saturday, and Sunday performances at Anfield, she will go to Cardiff, London, and Dublin before giving a performance in Amsterdam.
In an attempt to stay in touch with Liverpool supporters after his departure, Klopp signed up for Instagram last month. His first post was a heartbreaking farewell video that he uploaded after his last practise.
After working at Anfield for nine years, he acknowledged that he is not a “social media guy,” but he still wanted to keep up interactions with people on the platform.
The German has since shared other photos to his Instagram account, including ones of him playing tennis, going to a Q&A in Liverpool, and leading Liverpool to victory in the Champions League in 2019.
In other words, he’s been enjoying himself immensely in Majorca. He purchased a home on the Balearic island for £3.4 million, with plans to develop it into “an ecological family paradise.”
“I’ve dreamed of having a house in the south all my life,” Klopp said on the podcast Willipedia via Bild when asked why he was drawn to Majorca. I enjoy the people, the environment, and the weather.
I already know a lot of the people here, and there are many things I like. It’s not as though I’m trying to make new friends. I already have lifelong pals, so it’s great if some of them are also present.
He was also seen watching Borussia Dortmund, one of his former teams, play Real Madrid in the Champions League final at Wembley at the beginning of June.
