Raphael Varane, a defender for Como, is said to be thinking about retiring after his latest illness. 

The World Cup winner left Manchester United this summer and became a free agent, so he joined the newly promoted Italian team. 

Before he said he was leaving in May of this year, the 31-year-old played 95 times for United.

Varane played his first game for Como in the Coppa Italia last month, but he got hurt after only 20 minutes and had to leave the game.

 

In the end, it was found that the center-back hurt his knee and was not included in Cesc Fabregas’s Serie A team because he is likely to be out for a long time. 

La Parisien says that Varane is now thinking about retiring early at the age of 31. 

People say that the World Cup winner, who has played at the highest level for 14 years, could make his choice soon. 

Varane started as a young player for Ligue 1 Lens. After one season with the first team, he moved on to Real Madrid when he was 18. 

Over the next ten years, he played 360 times for the Spanish giants and won a Copa del Rey, three La Liga titles, and four Champions Leagues.  

The Frenchman joined Manchester United in 2021 and showed how good he was during his three years at Old Trafford, even though injuries slowed him down. 

Varane also played 93 times for France and was the star of their 2018 World Cup win. He will retire from international football in 2022.  

When he played his last game for United, a 2-1 win over Man City at Wembley won them the FA Cup.
