Even after traveling to Africa, the striker who chose to swear loyalty to the Netherlands did not forget where he came from.

Observers were astounded to see Gakpo bend down to feed kids who were seated beneath a canopy; this was captured on Central Liverpool Brazil’s Twitter.

Cody’s mother is Dutch, but he was raised in the Netherlands; his father is of Ghanaian descent and was born in Togo.

After completing the PSV Academy, he became an instant sensation in the 2021–22 campaign, winning the Dutch Player of the Year award after tallying 21 goals in 47 appearances.

Gakpo completed a winter transfer deal with Liverpool in January after scoring three goals for the Netherlands in December at the 2022 World Cup.
