A new line of training gear and casual clothes has been made by Manchester United, adidas and The Stone Roses.
.
The Red Devils paid respect to the famous Manchester band by using the same dark green, white, and yellow colours from their self-titled debut record as the club.
The design, which was made by guitarist John Squire, is patchy and surreal, just like their famous record cover from 1989. Fans can buy a signature bucket hat that looks like the band’s. ‘The Stone Roses’ are written in gold letters inside the collar of the workout tops by adidas.
Along with their hit song from their first record, “This is the one,” you can also buy a long-sleeved shirt with the band’s famous lemon logo running down the arms and a scarf that says the same thing. As part of the collection, fans can also buy a grey training top, a black sports jacket, a green bucket hat, and other causal tops.
.
A hat costs £40, a jacket costs £90, and the main workout top costs £60. Man United fans can buy the gear on the team’s website right now, even though the first team won’t wear it until they warm up for their away game at Aston Villa this weekend.
.
Jim Holroyd, Chief Commercial Development Officer at Manchester United, said that the club chose to share the collection because the band has a lot to do with the club’s history.
“This collection honours our shared history in a way that speaks to both older and younger fans.” Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Scott McTominay are just a few of the first team players who took part in a photoshoot to show off the new collection.
A short film called “Roses are Red,” which stars Gary Neville and Wes Brown, was also released to promote it.
United will be going to Villa Park on Sunday afternoon to try to keep up their good Premier League form after two wins in a row.
Erik ten Hag’s team won 3-0 at home against West Ham last weekend.
This came after a tense 4-3 win at Wolves.
The Red Devils know that they need to keep up their form to gain speed and move up the table. That puts them in sixth place, six points behind fifth-placed Tottenham and eight points behind fourth-placed Villa. They have 38 points from 23 games.
