Reportedly, his performances have also attracted the attention of Premier League powerhouse Liverpool.

The Daily Star reports that the Reds intend to acquire the Liverpudlian as one of their initial acquisitions following the arrival of Jurgen Klopp.

According to them, the Merseysiders intend to put Newcastle’s resolve to retain the England international to the test.

At least a £100 million offer is reportedly required for the Magpies to consider the possibility of selling Gordon.

Toon leaders may, however, attempt to reconcile their accounts in order to avoid violating Financial Fair Play regulations. This could compel them to engage in negotiations.

Gordon was acquired by Newcastle from Everton in January of last year for an estimated £45 million.

Although Gordon rose through the ranks at Goodison Park, he is rumored to have been a lifelong Liverpool supporter, which the Kop club reportedly plans to exploit in their pursuit of his services.

Last weekend, Gordon responded furiously to his substitution during Newcastle’s 2-1 victory over Brentford. However, he later expressed regret to Howe for his enraged reaction.

“A portion of me understood why he acted the way he did,” Howe stated.

“I did not condone it; it is unacceptable for a player to behave in such a manner, as it will give the impression that the team lacks the necessary discipline.”

“With only seconds remaining on the clock and Anthony going down clutching his ankle, I made a decision in an effort to accomplish what I believed was necessary to secure victory for the game.”

“He was obliged to acknowledge that and, should he have any concerns, to privately meet with me.” In that circumstance, I believed he ought to have reacted as such.

He conceded that he had been excessively emotive.

“However, this is a youthful player who is simultaneously learning about us and the game. “I have nothing against him.”

On Wednesday, Newcastle will return to action by traveling to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.
