Manchester United is making early arrangements for the summer transfer season, according to the most recent transfer rumours from Old Trafford.
Manchester United is one of the teams keeping an eye on the development of Luca Netz, a highly-regarded left-back for Borussia Monchengladbach.
Before moving to Monchengladbach in August 2021, the Germany Under-21 international was highly anticipated to make a significant impact in the Bundesliga after excelling in Hertha Berlin’s junior system. Adi Hütter, the Gladbach coach, talked about how far he thought Netz could go in his career at Borussia Park shortly after making that transition.
“Luca is a boy and has to become a man before he can reach his full potential,” he stated to Bild. However, seeing such a wonderful talent grow is enjoyable. He’s cheeky and completely carefree. Luca will play a significant role for Gladbach in the future.
Over the past three years, Netz has solidified his position as a mainstay in the Gladbach first team, having made over 70 appearances for the squad currently under Gerardo Seoane’s management.
In that time, he has demonstrated his abilities in the attacking third with 13 assists and 2 goals, which has apparently caught the interest of other clubs throughout Europe. The Premier League has reportedly shown the most interest in Netz, with the Red Devils, Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Chelsea reportedly keeping an eye on his development as his team looks to improve for the remainder of the season as they sit in twelfth place in the standings after Saturday’s home draw with Koln, according to HITC.
West Ham United sent personnel to observe the 20-year-old play earlier in the season, and all four Premier League clubs are rumoured to have watched Netz in action in recent weeks. The biggest danger to any prospective bidder for the gifted left-back, though, might come from Bayern Munich, who are getting more and more worried that Alphonso Davies might end up playing for La Liga winners Real Madrid.
