After appealing his red card against Tottenham, BRUNO FERNANDES will be able to play in Manchester United’s next three games.
The United captain was sent off for a hit on James Maddison in the first half of the 3-0 loss at Old Trafford.
Fernandes looked like he slipped as he tried to get the ball.
And he hit Maddison in the leg, which was called a foul by referee Chris Kavanagh right away. VAR later agreed with Kavanagh’s decision.
United was about to go into the tunnel for halftime with only a 1-0 deficit, so this was a huge blow to their spirits.
While experts were sure that the rough challenge was worth no more than a yellow card.
Fernandes would also be unable to play in the next three league games, which are against Aston Villa, Brentford, and West Ham.
But United filed an appeal right away for unfair termination.
The FA also stated that Fernandes’ straight red card, which was the first of his career, had been thrown out.
Man United’s next three games will have Bruno Fernandes available after he won his claim of being wrongfully fired.
“The midfielder was sent off for serious foul play during the Premier League match against Tottenham.”
This is good news for Fernandes, who was very angry about the decision at the end of the game on Sunday.
