GREAT HEART: Taylor Swift grants wish of young fan battling cancer at Sydney Eras Tour

Taylor Swift just made one little girl’s wildest dreams come true.

During the first night of her Eras Tour stop in Sydney, Australia, Swift turned the evening into something 9-year-old fan Scarlett Oliver will never forget.

Scarlett was diagnosed with an aggressive, incurable type of brain cancer in October of last year, with doctors giving her between 12 and 18 months to live.

Her step-mom, Natalie Oliver, shared the details of her story to a Taylor Swift group fan page on Facebook prior to the singer’s concert on Friday, Feb. 23, where she explained that Scarlett previously asked to meet Swift as her wish granted by the Make a Wish Foundation, though they were told it wasn’t possible.

Instead, Scarlett and her step-mom tried their best to get Swift’s attention on social media, posting an adorable photo of the child holding a sign that read, “Taylor can I have the 22 hat? Please.”

For those who are unaware, Swift opens the Red era of the show by singing her hit song “22” while sporting a black hat. She usually bends down to say hello and give the fan a hug after walking to the end of the stage and giving one particular fan a hat during the song.

Scarlett’s stepmother attempted to use the fan base’s online community to help spread the word about Scarlett’s wish because she had tickets to the show on Friday night, and the Swifties did not let her down.

Someone from Swift’s team must have gotten in contact with Scarlett and her family, because the young girl was ultimately given the opportunity to meet Swift at the end of the stage to receive the coveted “22” hat.

In videos of the sweet moment, the “Cruel Summer” songstress can be seen crouching down to give Scarlett a giant hug before placing the hat on her head. Swift also grabbed both of the child’s hands to give them a kiss before re-joining her dancers to continue the performance.

“Oh my goodness this makes me so happy,” one user celebrated on X after seeing the video. “I’m so happy for her.”

“Now I’m crying,” someone else gushed over the tear-jerking moment.

“YALL THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY I SAW THE POST ASKING TAYLOR FOR IT AND ALL OF US TAGGING HER WORKED,” another X user added.

Friday night’s show was the first of four performances Swift has scheduled for Sydney, after playing three nights in Melbourne last weekend.
