Greenwood scores his first goal for Getafe
Greenwood has now re-opened his goal account while on loan at Getafe
Greenwood had not kicked a ball since January 22 2022 when Manchester United took on West Ham.
His last goal came three days earlier, in Man Utd’s 3-1 win over Brentford.
The ex-England striker is making his football comeback with the Spanish La Liga club after his move from Manchester United.
The winger has slowly been integrated into the Getafe first team since joining the club on September 1.
The winger has also had to make himself accustomed to his fair share of agricultural challenges with many opposition players upset by his presence in Spain’s top flight.
In his fifth league appearance for Getafe today, he scored his first goal against Celta Vigo after 33 minutes.

The game ended up 2-2 and puts Getafe 11th in the LaLiga table.
Greenwood, 21, was placed on administrative leave by United when the Crown Prosecution Service filed charges against him in October 2022 for attempted rape, coercive behavior, and assault causing actual bodily harm.
Key witnesses retracted their statements and refused to participate, which led to the case being dropped in February 2023.
As a result, United found themselves in a position where it was possible they might add Greenwood back to their roster.
But following a fierce outcry from fans and criticism from prominent organizations, United decided to loan the winger.
