There could only be one result when Kylian Mbappe ran into the pocket of space selected by JUDE BELLINGHAM.

This was a vicious, deadly combo that we will undoubtedly witness many more times in the coming years.

Bellingham was on the opposite side of the pitch, screaming and punching the air with joy, while the French superstar celebrated with his signature routine of folding his arms.

Mind you, it makes sense that he is ecstatic to have Mbappe on his team.

Bellingham really dug in against the Italians, even if he had a sluggish start to the game in Poland. He was the driving force behind Real’s progress, and although though he was involved in Federico Valverde’s opening goal just before the hour, his play was excellent overall, earning him a standing ovation when he was substituted close to the finish.

Mbappe’s transfer from Paris Saint-Germain was always going to have a significant effect on Bellingham as well as the Madrid team.

The Englishman now appears poised to return to his natural position in central midfield, the team’s heartbeat, but with free reign to attack and wreak havoc as part of a lethal tandem with Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.

Bellingham barely got back from vacation last week after Euro 2024, where he had some incredibly poor performances aside from his incredible equaliser against Slovakia.

For those who witnessed Bellingham struggle in Germany, seeing him dominate La Liga once more will be even more upsetting. But judging from this Real team, they truly do have all of their gloss and elegance back.Despite the lacklustre nature of their victories, they have nevertheless been able to control Europe in recent years.

But now that they have Mbappe, they have a team that can compete with any of their prior all-star, all-dancing teams.

Bellingham will undoubtedly adore playing with Mbappe. However, assuming a more central role as a back will enable him to further hone his skills.

Ancelotti positioned him out on the left during the second half of the previous season, and Southgate did the same for the Euros.Federico Valverde opened the scoring against AtalantaFederico Valverde opened the scoring against AtalantaCredit: GettyIt is the first trophy the pair have won togetherIt is the first trophy the pair have won togetherCredit: Getty

He was doing well in Spain. In actuality, spectacular. Although Bellingham scored 23 goals and provided 12 assists, Ancelotti was unable to provide those numbers because the team was lacking the last piece of the puzzle.

They now have that man in Mbappe.

However, everything has changed at the Bernabeu this summer.

Toni Kroos has departed, Nacho and Joselu have ended up in Saudi Arabia, and Mbappe has been joined by Brazilian prodigy Endrick, leaving a massive void in the midfield.

However, Bellingham shown in the second half that he is capable of being the one pulling the strings.

Ancelotti used Vinicius Junior, Mbappe, and Rodrygo as his front three players.

Bellingham occupied the left centre position, Federico Valverde the right centre position, and Aurelien Tchouameni the defensive anchor.

“Defensively, the system depends on Bellingham and if he is on the level of Valverde or pushing forward, so it can be a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1,” Ancelotti stated prior to the game.

“When we don’t have the ball, there is a slight change that we can observe. Mbappé and Vinicius are also able to switch places. It will be essential to be mobile.”

At first, he had plenty of opportunities to advance.

“When he did, Bellingham used his chest to control the ball, but in an attempt to score, he accidentally sank his foot under Atalanta goalie Juan Musso, receiving a yellow card.

However, Bellingham turned on the style in the end. He located Vinicius Junior, who evaded a defender to provide Valverde with the assist.

Following one shot being saved and one being blocked, Bellingham showed amazing vision by spotting a space which Mbappe could run into and score with style.

Last night, there were other English exports on display besides the former Birmingham star.

Ademola Lookman, a London native and current Nigerian international for England under-21, made history for Atalanta by scoring three goals in the team’s 3-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final.

A £10 million addition from Everton, Ben Godfrey, was also taken off the Atalanta substitutes’ bench.

He never would have imagined that, having finished the season on Merseyside, he would be facing Mbappe in the Uefa final.

Real is the side to beat ahead of a season with enlarged formats for the Club World Cup and the Champions League.

And anticipate more medals from Bellingham over the course of the next nine months.
