In a big health boost for Manchester United, Marcus Rashford was all smiles as he went to Copenhagen.
The star player for the Red Devils was on the plane to Denmark with a young player who had never played before. Rashford, 26, has been in the news since he went to his birthday party after Manchester United lost the derby.
Then he missed Saturday’s 1-0 win at Fulham because he failed a late fitness test after training with a dead leg.
But United fans got good news when he got there for tomorrow night’s important Champions League game.
Rashford smiled as he walked through Manchester Airport this morning wearing a stylish blue Paul Smith team suit, a white t-shirt, and a dark cap. Erik ten Hag, the manager, revealed that the No. 10 is once again in the running to play against the Danish champions.
The Dutch player told the press at the Parken Stadium, “I’m 100% ready.” Rashy missed one game because he got a small injury.
This season, Rashford has only scored one goal in 14 games for United. It was a nice strike in the loss at Arsenal on September 3.
But Ten Hag pushed his star forward so that he would soon end his dry spell. Another thing he said was, “Marcus is very dedicated to Manchester United.” Putting in a lot of hard work in the gym to get back in shape.
Victor Lindelof also missed the win at Craven Cottage, which was Ten Hag’s 50th as United manager in a record 30 days. He did, however, make the trip.
It came as a surprise that teenage attacker Omari Forson was part of the 23-person traveling squad that flew to the Danish city.
England youth international Forson, 19, played for the Red Devils in preseason this summer, but he hasn’t played for the first team yet.
The Under-19s team and the first team both took the same trip. Tomorrow afternoon, the Under-19s play Copenhagen U19 in the Uefa Youth League.
