Xavi thinks that Barcelona star Lamine Yamal will reach the very top. He praised the teenager’s character and maturity as well as his football skills.

Xavi has said great things about Yamal, who is only 16 years old but already one of Barcelona’s best and most important players. He thinks the kid has everything it takes to be a player who changes the game.

“I see him very calm,” Xavi told the press not long ago. Even though he is young, he is very measured in the sense that he is taking everything that is happening to him very well. His behavior shows that he is responsible and aware of what he is going through. He’s a great player because of how humble he is. For Barcelona, he is a player who can start a new era in football. We hope to always be able to enjoy him at this level. A boy in his teens is becoming an adult. On a thinking level, he is a happy, funny boy. He is having a good time. “He’s pleased.”

Yomal has played in all but one of Barcelona’s 30 La Liga games so far this season, even though he is old. With six goals and seven assists across all tournaments, he has been involved in 13 goals, which is only a few less than much more experienced and well-known players like Joao Felix (15), Ferran Torres (15), and Raphinha (16). That being said, only Felix, Torres, and Robert Lewandowski have scored more goals this year.

Before he became an international player for Spain and has since made six senior starts for La Roja, Yamal could have played for either Morocco or Equatorial Guinea because of his parents.

Yamal will want to keep being an important player for Barcelona in the last few games of 2023–24. With eight games left, Barcelona is eight points behind Real Madrid in La Liga. They will be eager to keep the pressure on, and they might even think they can catch their big rivals if they win this month’s Clasico at the Bernabeu on April 21.

For Xavi’s team, the Champions League is still going on. On April 10, they play the first game of a quarterfinal match against Paris Saint-Germain. Yamal also wants to go to the Olympics right after Euro 2024 with Spain this summer.
