United has signed their first player of the summer, Joshua Zirkzee.
For £36.5 million, the Dutch player went from Bologna to Old Trafford.

Zirkzee, who is 23 years old, signed a five-year deal with the Theatre of Dreams. He is the first player they have signed since Sir Jim Ratcliffe took over.
A statement from the club said, “Manchester United is pleased to confirm that Joshua Zirkzee has joined the club, subject to registration.”
“The Dutch forward agreed to a deal that ends in June 2029, but there is a way to push it back one year.”
“Zirkzee scored the most goals for Bologna FC last year and helped his team make it to the UEFA Champions League.” He was named the Serie A Under–23 Player of the Year for 2023–24.
“The 23-year-old Dutch player with international experience won six titles with Bayern Munich.”
Born and raised in Bayern Munich, Zirkzee is thrilled to have joined the big clubs in the Premier League.
“I know how exciting the future will be here because I have talked to the manager and the club’s leaders,” he said. “I can not wait to do my part to help Manchester United win.”
“As a player, I always did my best to win.” I am ready for the next challenge, which is to win more trophies and take my work to the next level.

“I need a short break after being with the national team.” I will be ready to go as soon as I get back.
Erik Ten Hag and his scouts were interested in Zirkzee because he scored 12 goals in 37 games the previous year.
The Dutch picked him for the Euro 2024 team because of how well he played in his last season in Serie A.
Early this month, in the semifinals, the Oranje beat Turkey in his first game for the team.
Zirkzee got his second cap on Wednesday night, right before the Dutch lost to England in the semi-finals.
Dan Ashworth, United’s new sports director, is excited about what Zirzkee can do.
“One of our main goals this summer was to get a forward to add to our strong group of attackers,” he said.
“We are thrilled to have signed a great player like Joshua so early in the transfer window.”
“Joshua is a smart and skilled player who is ready to help Manchester United.”
He will be a great addition to our team because he has the skills and wants to become a world-class player.

Red Devils fans are hoping that Zirkzee’s coming is just the start of a busy transfer window.
Last season, Ten Hag made it very clear that he wanted to bring in more players. The club won the FA Cup final against their local foes Manchester City.
