‘Horrible player’: Antony disgusted fans when he angered Coventry supporters during Man Utd’s win

ANTONY was labelled a “horrible person, horrible player” after he allegedly goaded Coventry fans after their defeat to Manchester United.

The Red Devils narrowly avoided disaster as they beat the Sky Blues on penalties to set-up a showdown with Man City in the FA Cup Final.

Antony was slammed after Man Utd's penalty shootout win over Coventry City

However, that came only after the Championship team rallied from a 3-0 deficit to force extra time, only to have a late goal disallowed for offside deny them a historic victory.

Thanks to goals from Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, and Scott McTominay, United appeared to be coasting towards a rematch of last year’s championship game.

With eleven minutes remaining, Callum O’Hare set up a nerve-wracking conclusion after Ellis Simms drew one back on minute 71.

Then, in stoppage time, Haji Wright maintained his composure to score from the spot to force extra time.

Antony entered the game just before Coventry’s opening goal, but he remained inactive when the game proceeded to a penalty shootout, following the disallowance of Victor Torp’s goal in the 120th minute because of an offside in the build-up.

Casemiro, a fellow Brazilian, attempted to score first but Wright’s shot was stopped, giving Coventry the advantage.

After Diogo Dalot scored without error, Torp hammered the ball into the upper corner. Christian Eriksen then scored United’s third goal, but Andre Onana dived to his right to stop O’Hare’s attempt.

Ben Sheaf then blasted far over the crossbar after Captain Fernandes had given United the lead by sending the goaltender the wrong way.

Rasmus Hojlund was left to step up and win it, and the Dane sprinted off in celebration, sending the goalie the other way.

However, as he provoked some of their players or supporters, Antony is said to have started cupping his hands to his ears towards the Coventry end.

Consequently, Clinton Morrison, the former striker for Crystal Palace, said to BBC 5Live that he should focus on himself because he might play in the Championship the next season.

A plethora of other admirers were eager to take advantage of the winger, who had not left much of an impression since taking Alejandro Garnacho’s place.

“Antony taunting Coventry fans after Hojlund’s penalty,” one X post said. The sheer nerve of it.

Another said, “That bro has lost shame,” and he was also called “unbelievably small time.”

“The standards have dropped at this club,” a patient fan said.

One admirer cried out, “Bro thinks he won the World Cup,” while another praised Antony’s antics as “classy as ever.”
