Referee Robert Jones did not issue another booking to the 20-year-old, as Neville noted during his Sky Sports analysis..
The Red Devils legend said: “Hannibal should be off. He’s lucky because the referee didn’t want to send him off.
“He’s got to be careful to say the least – he’s hanging in there by a thread.”
Reacting to his comments, one fan said: “Does Gary Neville want Hannibal sent off? Not like he hasn’t mentioned it 100 times.”
A second said: “Why is Neville so desperate for Hannibal to be sent off?”
A third said: “Gary Neville still going on about Hannibal like he wants him to get sent off”, while a fourth remarked: “Gary Neville hates United.”
Another added: “Gary Neville is absolutely desperate for Hannibal to be sent off here… not shut up about it for the past 25 mins.”
However, a number of fans agreed with Neville.
One fan said: “The fact Gary Neville is gasping on comms every time Hannibal goes near a tackle should tell you everything you need to know.
“He’s lucky to still be on, and he’ll obviously go and score the winner now.”
A second said: “Hannibal should be off, even Neville is saying it. Horrible player.”
The team that fell to Manchester City 3-0 on Sunday saw seven changes made by Erik ten Hag, and supporters were happy to see Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes, two of the team’s underperforming players, sitting on the bench.
