ICONIC SHIRT: Man Utd launch new iconic retro range inspired by 1988-1990 in a photoshoot with Rashford, Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez

Manchester United has put out a new set of kits that honours its fans from the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The Man United x Originals third shirt is a reissue of the kit that was worn from 1988 to 1990. It was worn during United’s rise to become the most successful club in England and was seen as a bit of a rarity in kit catalogues.

The shirt is made of an engineered “MUFC” jacquard cloth and has a ribbed collar. It is also red and black.

The Sharp sponsorship mark, the adidas logo, and the club logo have all been raised. There are also shorts that match with the shirt that say “MUFC” down the sides.

Adidas has also released a bench jacket that looks like the clothes that famous boss Sir Alex Ferguson wears on the pitch. The sportswear brand says that every piece in the line is a nod to clothing from the past. The collection has a lot of different items.

Because United was a bad team in the late 1980s, Ferguson was likely to be fired if they lost to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final in 1990. United won the second game 1-0, which was the start of a good run at Old Trafford.
