MU Transfer: After the news that Ilkay Gundogan wants to leave Barcelona after just one season, Manchester United immediately announced the signing of the German midfielder.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has expressed his desire to leave Barcelona after just one season with the Catalan club. The German star made 51 appearances in all competitions last season, contributing 5 goals and 14 assists, but seems to no longer feel happy at Camp Nou.

New coach Hansi Flick is said to be ready to fulfill Gundogan’s wish to leave. Currently, Manchester United are showing special interest in the 33-year-old midfielder. Coach Ten Hag is very interested in Gundogan’s services, while coach Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce also closely monitors the situation.

Man United are still looking for an experienced and classy central midfielder to strengthen the squad. Gundogan, with his ball control, passing, and goalscoring abilities is seen as an ideal addition to the Red Devils.

However, Man Utd’s failure to qualify for the Champions League this season could be a disadvantage. In addition, the “Red Devils” will also face competition from several Saudi Arabian clubs and Gundogan’s former club Manchester United.

Gundogan had a hugely successful seven seasons at Manchester City, winning five Premier League titles, a Champions League, and numerous other trophies, before moving to Barca last summer on a free transfer.
