Federico Chiesa became a Liverpool player
The Italy forward has signed a long-term contract with the Reds after an agreement for his transfer was reached with Juventus.
Having successfully completed a medical, Chiesa – who will wear the No.14 shirt – posed for photos at his new workplace and sat down for his first interview with Liverpool
Under the terms of the deal, Liverpool will pay Juventus a £10m fixed fee, plus £2.5m in add-ons, depending on whether Arne Slot’s side win the Premier League and Champions League.
Chiesa said after joining Liverpool: “I’m very happy to be a Liverpool player. When Richard Hughes called me and said, ‘Do you want to join Liverpool?’, I said yes immediately because I know the history of this club. So I’m very happy and looking forward to starting here.”
Chiesa’s contract with Liverpool will last for four years. Chiesa, who has 51 caps for Italy and was part of the squad that won EURO 2020, promises to bring a fresh look to the ‘Reds’ attack. Last season, the striker scored 10 goals in 37 appearances for Juventus.
