OK! was invited to Steven, the former England captain, and his wife Alex’s property to celebrate their lavish wedding and their plan to have more children.

Alex Gerrard and Steven Gerrard invited OK! into their opulent Portuguese property in 2008 to commemorate their first wedding anniversary.

The couple lounged in the sun, played in their own pool with their two-year-old and four-year-old daughters, Lilly-Ella and Lexie, and posed for pictures in their living room decked in fuchsia pink.

Steven, a midfielder for Liverpool who represented England at the time, told OK! The getaway, which is located in the Algarve region close to Faro, provided him with a much-needed respite from his demanding training regimen.

OK! was welcomed inside Steven and Alex’s gorgeous vacation home.Steven, who is now 40, stated, “Alex and I sat down and planned what we were going to do as soon as I knew how much time I was going to have off.” He also mentioned that it had been precisely a year since he had married Alex at the opulent Cliveden House hotel, which is located on the border of Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. The Duchess of Sussex had spent the night before her nuptials with Prince Harry at this same magnificent location.

Talking about their wedding video, Alex, now 38, said Lilly “absolutely loves it” and added, “She watches it from beginning to end.” Steven said, “She went through a phase when she watched it every night.”

During the interview, Steven, who first became captain of England in 2010, spoke about how lovely it was to spend quality time with his daughters. “They get excited when I’m around, which is lovely. Especially Lilly because she’s four now so she understands when I’m going away. It can be the case that I’m in and out of the house every couple of days, staying at hotels and playing away games.”

But I have to do it because that’s what I do.He claimed that he may have to miss three weeks of work during football season, referring to it as “a completely different way of living.” But he said, “I’m totally over football,” and that he can unwind with the females in the summer. Everything revolves around spending time with the family up to the first day of training again.The pair, who began dating in 2002 after Steven reportedly asked Alex out twice (she supposedly turned him down the first time), also discussed their intentions to have a third kid and Steven made light of the fact that he couldn’t possibly live with four girls. Steven joked, “Well, sometimes, but only because Alex turned them against me!” in response to the question of whether he was afraid of women. Sometimes it’s three against one!They had no idea that three years later, in 2011, they would receive their third child, a daughter named Lourdes. Then, when Alex gave birth to their fourth child, a son named Lio George, in 2017, Steven was finally able to achieve his dream of not being the only boy in the Gerrard household. “Our family is complete,” he said to his Instagram followers at the time.

During the conversation in the Portuguese villa, Alex also mentioned starting a power walking and running regimen. However, Steven made fun of her by joking that she would need to put in a lot of effort to match his level of fitness. “Before she could do anything with me, she would have to reach a certain level,” he chuckled.

In addition, Alex discussed starting a style column called Go Shopping With Alex. However, she stated that she saw herself more as “a mum” and has never considered herself a “style icon.” She also served as the model for the 2013 Lipsy VIP line and created the Alex Gerrard collection for Forever Unique.

Additionally, Steven said he thought Alex always looked stunning when she went out. She always has great taste and looks stunning. When things become heated, I’ll stand out and provide my opinion, but most of the time I just give up,” he said. Apart from that, he said he had style and that he “dressed well,” adding that he wouldn’t be caught in anything “too outrageous.”

Two years prior, Steven had announced his retirement from international football, and he concluded his 19-year playing career in 2014. “I consider myself fortunate to have had so many amazing moments throughout my career,” he said. “I cherish every moment I have spent with LA Galaxy, Liverpool, and England.
