Every game is different. Luis Diaz, who grew up in one of the most impoverished areas of Colombia, talks about the early trauma that prepared him for his amazing Liverpool debut.
Liverpool’s winger Luis Diaz said he views every game as an opportunity to get revenge for the hardships that have brought him this far in his career.
When he was a young man, one of his favorite recollections was watching trains transport coal past his small Barrancas community; most of the coal was headed for Europe.
.
He had no idea that a few years later he would have to overcome the same obstacles and turn the football world upside down.
On UEFA’s YouTube channel, Diaz responded to a question on where he got his confidence by saying, “In La Guajira.” It has its roots in my ancestry. I’ve played football in my town and hometown my entire life.
“These are my traits; they have imprinted many of the attributes I currently have on me, and consequently, I have grown many more. That’s my style of play.
“Every game is a challenge for me because I’m constantly looking for ways to improve; I understand the costs involved and I have to make the most of every second that I have.”
“The events that follow depend on the first.”
