After Brentford’s controversial first-half goal, MANCHESTER UNITED’s bench lost it completely.
In the fifth minute of added time, Ethan Pinnock scored for the Bees after United defended a corner kick while they were down a player at Old Trafford.
Because Matthijs de Ligt had to leave the field because judge Samuel Barrott told him to because he had hit someone earlier in the game and his head was broken.
De Ligt, who is 25 years old, was taken off for medical help after getting a cut on his head near the end of the first half.
It looked like Manchester United tried to fix the center back three times.
But when he came back four minutes later, the Dutch player still looked like he was bleeding.
The former Bayern Munich star was then told to leave the field to get more care.
That’s when Brentford scored, which made everyone on the United bench go crazy.
De Ligt was furious about the late goal and kicked a ball away as an angry act.
Assistant manager Ruud van Nistelrooy of United yelled at the fourth official, likely because he let the set piece happen while one of his players was getting treatment for a head injury.
Erik ten Hag, the boss of United, also got a yellow card for his protests.
But the home team fought back and tied the game with Alejandro Garnacho just two minutes into the second half.
And Rasmus Hojlund turned the game around in the 62nd minute to make it 2-1.
