A new story from Spain says that Mason Greenwood has become so immersed in Spanish life during his six months on loan at Getafe that his whole family is now learning the language.
The loanee from Manchester United went to the La Liga team near the end of the summer transfer window. The academy graduate was told to continue his career away from the club.
The decision was made after the club’s internal review of the player’s behavior was completed in August. This was after CPS dropped charges against Greenwood for attempted rape, assault, and coercive control.
There are no charges against the winger.
After being out for 18 months, Greenwood has started to get back into shape since moving to Spain. He has also helped the club get to tenth place.
According to AS, the 22-year-old has also felt the benefits of the field. He quickly moved in after buying a home in Boadilla del Monte, a wealthy neighborhood 30 kilometers from the center of Madrid.
It is thought that Greenwood lives with his partner, their daughter, and his father Andrew. His mother Melanie still lives in England, but she is said to visit often.
According to reports, the winger “loves” life in Spain and appreciates the good food and friendly people there. He is also said to have a tutor who comes to the house to teach his family Spanish.
Greenwood is thought to have hired a personal trainer to help him get back into shape after his paid ban from the Manchester United club. He is also thought to have studied outside of football.
In the same way, Greenwood is thought to have fit in at Getafe, becoming more comfortable with his teammates, boss, and fans after being quiet at first.
Jose Bordalas had great things to say about the forward after he helped the team beat Granada 2-0, but he also told the young player to be humble.
“He’s a great player, but everyone has to do their job,” Bordalas said when the game was over. «We are pleased with the work of Greenwood, Borja, and Maxi. But he can’t shine without the work of everyone else.
“Greenwood played well in the first half, but not so well in the second.” But everyone has helped the team.
It was clear to them how important the game was, and we finally won it.
Greenwood has scored six goals in 20 games across all categories and set up four more in the Spanish league.
The player is planning his next move as the end of his one-year loan loan draws near. Barcelona, a foe in La Liga, is thought to be his “dream” team.
Last week, Mail Sport said that Greenwood had asked his advisors to help make a move happen after it was said that the Catalan club was considering a £40 million move for the former England player.
If a move to Camp Nou doesn’t happen, Getafe is thought to want to offer the player a long-term deal.
