In light of the passing of his wife Cathy, Sir Alex Ferguson has listed his £3.5 million mansion for sale.
The five-bedroom, 7,000 square foot home of the legend is located in Wilmslow, Cheshire, and features an elegant open-concept kitchen and games room.
The property also has well manicured grounds, en-suite bathrooms, and a stunning chandelier in the entryway, according to photos.
The former Manchester United manager probably decompressed in his quaint gaming room, which is furnished with snooker, oak bookcases, and artwork.
The stairway of the property is embellished with a distinctive tartan carpet from the Ferguson clan.
According to estate agents, “This stunning, surprisingly roomy detached home is situated on a very private, gated, and secure plot.”
“It has about 7,000 square feet.”
In the aftermath of his wife’s passing, Sir Alex made the decision to sell the house, according to the Mirror.
At the age of eighty-four, Lady Cathy Ferguson passed away in October. Her husband, their three sons, two sisters, twelve grandchildren, and one great-grandchild are all alive.
At the funeral for Sir Bobby Charlton earlier this month, he was one of the attendees. According to Sir Alex, his wife—who he first met in 1964—was a “bedrock” in his life.
There was some controversy during Fergie’s stay at the opulent gaff.
Following a significant objection to the application from the neighboring property to demolish a two-story house and construct a three-story mansion, Sir Alex lost a planning battle in 2020.
Planners received a five-page protest letter from Fergie’s attorneys.
He asserted that the removal of trees would compromise his privacy and change the area’s nature.
“Likely to have a significant impact on the character of the area and the existing privacy standards afforded,” he stated of the tree removal.
However, organizers chose to move through with the plan.
