After his wife Cathy died, SIR Alex Ferguson put his £3.5 million home on the market.
The star’s 7,000-square-foot home in Wilmslow, Cheshire, has five bedrooms and a stylish open-plan kitchen and games room.
Photos of the property also show a beautiful chandelier in the hallway, bathrooms with separate toilets, and perfectly trimmed grounds.
The ex-Manchester United manager probably let off steam in his cute game room, which had art, oak shelves, and a snooker table.
There is also a one-of-a-kind “Ferguson clan” plaid carpet on the stairs of the house.
Estate agents say, “This impressive detached home is deceptively large and is set in a very private, gated, and secure plot.”
“It boasts about 7,000 square feet.”
It was reported in the Mirror that after his wife died, Sir Alex chose to sell the house.
She was 84 years old when she died in October. Lady Cathy Ferguson is left by her husband, their three sons, two sisters, 12 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
He was one of the people who mourned at the funeral of Sir Bobby Charlton earlier this month. Sir Alex has said that his wife, whom he married in 1964, was a “bedrock” in his life.
There were some strange things that happened while Fergie lived at the gaff.
In 2020, Sir Alex lost a planning case because he strongly opposed someone next door’s plan to tear down a two-story house and build a three-story home.
A five-page letter of protest from Fergie’s lawyers was sent to the planners.
He said that cutting down trees would invade his privacy and change the aesthetics of the area.
It was “likely to have a significant impact on the character of the area and the existing privacy standards,” he said about cutting down trees.
But managers chose to go ahead with the plan.
