Wayne Rooney had a terrible time with Birmingham. He was fired on Tuesday, after only 13 weeks as team boss.

The ex-England star was having a rough time. They were in charge of 15 games, and the Blues lost nine of them. This dropped them from sixth place in the table to twenty-first.

When Rooney was fired, he said, “It will take me a while to get over this upset.” He also said that while he looked for a new job, he would spend time with his wife Coleen and their children.

After three jobs in a row at Derby, DC United and Birmingham, where he had to move around a lot, Rooney will finally be able to wind down.

The 38-year-old runs a real estate business with his wife Coleen. Let’s look at the many homes and vacation homes they’ve owned over the years.  

A house in Cheshire worth £20 million

Coleen and Wayne fell in love when they were kids and met on a council estate in Liverpool. They became obviously wealthy, but they stayed close to how poor they were at the start.

For the past year and a half, they’ve been living in a big £20 million house in Cheshire, which makes them feel very rich.  

The striker, who is 38 years old and used to play for England and Manchester United, spent a lot of money on his dream home for his family. The castle is in the middle of nowhere, behind a lake, and spread out over 40 acres of well-kept fields. It has six bedrooms. 

Nice for a boy from Croxteth, where cheap flats are crammed with small houses. That’s a lot more than the £300,000 a week Rooney made when he was at the top of his game.

Their house has a wine cellar, an indoor pool, a home theatre, a barn with room for 14 horses and a football pitch for their four boys. 

The house that Wayne and Coleen live in is in the middle of 40 acres of land, far from everything else. Planes fly right over it because it’s on the way to Manchester Airport.

There is a bridge that leads to the house that is behind a lake. People sometimes call it the “Morrisons mansion” since it looks a lot like the store company.

Coleen has been showing pictures of the inside of the huge house for a few months now. There are a lot of basic cream and stylish greys inside. 

A big bar with a white marble top takes up most of the kitchen. The floors are made of marble too, just like the island. 

Light grey is the colour of the walls, and white was chosen for the furniture and fridge. 

In the dining room, there are three big windows with white sides that open up to the family yard. Clothes in light grey finish off the look.  

Coleen showed a bit of the Rooneys’ living room during the Christmas season of 2022. There are still white walls and a marble floor in the room.

The family had planned to move in 2020, but the COVID-19 virus pushed the date back.

^Even though Coleen and Wayne were remodelling the house, birds kept getting in. To keep the birds from eating the grass seeds, they put in an automatic “bird-scarer” like the ones you see at airports.

Rich people who lived nearby in the Cheshire countryside got tired of the long construction work because the gas-powered scarer would go off every 20 minutes.

The high-tech protection around the property was something else that made people in the area mad.

Some people didn’t like the 9-foot-tall fence that was put around the land because they thought it would “urbanise” the rural area. The people in charge agreed with the Rooneys.

On the first floor, there is a big swimming pool surrounded by glass. A steam room, a hot tub, and a diving pool are also there. 

The ex-Manchester United star also has a horse block and a big garage where he keeps all of his sports cars. Also, there is a “guest toilet” and two lifts, one for the family and one for guests, so people don’t have to use the bedroom downstairs, which would be rude.

There are six bedrooms and a bathroom in each one on the second floor. There is also a dressing room in the master bedroom. 

The house has two floors plus a basement with a gym, a movie theatre with ten seats, a wine cellar, a snooker room with a bar and a steam room.

The garage is very big. It has six car bays, 14 horse stalls, a hay barn, and a changing room.

Wayne’s first house was in Croxteth, Liverpool.

It was known as a bad part of Liverpool, Croxteth, where Wayne Rooney lived with his parents Thomas and Jeanette, as well as his two brothers. He was 17 years old at the time. The fancy and expensive home that the Rooney family lives in now was just a dream in 2003.

“This is Crocky, Croxteth, where I’m from,” he said. It’s clear that there has been some violence or trouble there over the years. But I love the place; it made me who I am.

Coleen’s childhood was also very simple. The mother of four grew up in a small terraced house next to her husband. The bedroom windows had simple white panelling that made the house stand out.

“You can have a big house and a nice car, but I’m from here, and it’s in me.” There is no doubt that you will always remember this as the place where you learnt a lot about life and grew up.

A £900,000 house on Victoria Road in Formby, Merseyside

£300,000 for a house in Florida

These two bought a waterfront flat at Harbour Pointe in Port Charlotte, Florida, for about £320,000 in 2007. Wayne was known as one of the best players of his time. Because of the economic downturn, home prices dropped, and they lost all of their money. 

The vacation home had a master room, a study, and an exercise centre. It was part of the resort grounds and had a heated pool. 

MailOnline reported at the time that they bought the house through Your Place Abroad, the same company that helped Michael Owen and former cricket player Andrew Flintoff find homes.  

But because of a downturn in the world economy, property prices went down, and nearby homes lost as much as £150,000 in value. A house in Prestbury, Cheshire, that is worth £3.7 million.

In 2006, Wayne and Coleen swapped Formby for Green Cheshire, but it wasn’t a cheap deal. They paid a huge £1.5 million for a piece of land in Prestbury that is next door to David Dickinson, the star of Bargain Hunt. 

They made their neighbours very angry when, soon after moving in, they tore down a different house from the 1930s to build their home, which is now a six-bedroom mansion with a pink swimming pool inside.

Coleen, who is crazy about fashion, would feel very special in the pile because it had a private movie theatre, spa, swimming pool, and many rooms.

The Rooneys lived here for ten years before moving to their current home.  

At the time, someone from Cheshire told the Independent, “I understand why they want a nice house, but they are destroying a piece of history.” ‘With fake columns and marble bathrooms, some of the new houses are gross and awful. 

“That building is so unfair to people who want to make money by tearing it down. I used to live next door to it.” 

According to documents that The Sun got from the Land Registry, they made £3.7 million from the latest sale. 

A source told the news organisation, “They were sad to sell it, but their new house is so great that they had no reason to keep the old one.”

An estate house in Barbados worth £5 million on the Royal Westmoreland Estate  

Wayne and Coleen bought a rental home in Barbados for £5 million in 2010 because they loved it so much as a holiday spot.  

The resort is on the island of Westmoreland in the Caribbean. Because so many famous people from the north live in Jasmine Ridge, the area is now called the “Northern Quarter.”

It’s on 750 acres and has 225 houses and cottages that are all privately owned. A diner, spa, private beach, and golf course are also there.

Coleen designed the five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-million-pound home when it was first built. The view of the sea from it is beautiful.

Every day, the farm lets people use a buggy and play golf for free.

As of 2017, the house rents for £25,410 a week during busy times, like Christmas. It goes down to £10,164 a week during the off-season.

The owner of Royal Westmoreland in 2017 said, “We have a very wide range of people here.” You are on the same level as everyone else when you walk through the gate.

“They don’t get star-struck or bother each other.” No one is afraid of them because they fit in.
