On Monday, the 36-year-old Jason announced his retirement during an emotional press conference.

He played 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and made the Pro Bowl seven times during that span.

His brother Travis played in the NFL for 11 of those seasons.

Travis and the brothers’ parents, Donna and Ed, appeared at the press conference and were all emotional.

On Wednesday, Jason and Travis released their latest edition of the New Heights podcast.

During the episode, the three-time Super Bowl champion Travis sent Jason a message about his mentorship to him while both played in the NFL.

“You’ve always been a step ahead of me and it’s always been like I’ve had that flotation device right there,” the 34-year-old said.

“To have you out of [the NFL], man it feels empty.”

Travis then stopped himself and began to cry as Jason told him, “I hear you.”

“It was a fun journey to watch and I appreciate you showing me the way and bringing us along the journey with you big guy,” Travis continued while wiping tears out of his eyes.

Jason then told his brother, “We showed each other the way. You’ve been playing a long time on your own and I look forward being able to appreciate and watch your games more.”
