After joining former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi at Inter Miami in the summer, Jordi Alba announced his retirement from playing for Spain at the international level.
After 93 appearances and nine goals for La Roja, the left-back has decided to retire from international football. He was part of the group that won the 2012 European Championship, scoring in the championship match against Italy, and he captained his country’s team in their success in the UEFA Nations League earlier in 2023.
A lba joined Inter Miami in the summer, following in the footsteps of Messi, and is currently playing alongside former Barcelona captain Sergio Busquets. The defender has established himself as a crucial player of the team, and after winning the Leagues Cup, he is poised to win the US Open Cup as The Herons have already sealed a final berth.
