Jude Bellingham Draws a Bizarre Comparison to William Shakespeare

Jude Bellingham scored his tenth goal in as many games to tie Cristiano Ronaldo’s Real Madrid record.

.

AHEAD OF TIME? This time, Bellingham scored for the Spanish powerhouses during their La Liga home game against Osasuna on Saturday. In the ninth minute of the game at the Santiago Bernabeu, the midfield player completed a nice team move after teammates Luka Modric and Dani Carvajal exchanged sharp passes.

Bellingham then scored his team’s second goal, bringing his total for Madrid to 10 goals in 10 games since joining the squad. This accomplishment ties him with Ronaldo’s record in the same number of games. Madrid, incidentally, compared the England player to renowned English playwright William Shakespeare following his goal.

Shakespeare and Bellingham were the two “Englishmen who have written love stories,” the club wrote on social media.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: Since joining from Borussia Dortmund earlier this summer for £89 million ($112 million), the 20-year-old, who also has three assists this season, has been one of the season’s standout additions. He has more than earned back that transfer cost thus far, and there’s probably more to come.

Next what? Next Saturday, Madrid plays Sevilla after hosting Osasuna.
