A lot of people aren’t sure about Jude Bellingham before England’s last two Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Head coach Gareth Southgate is ready for a lot of players to pull out before England’s games against Malta this Friday at Wembley and then against North Macedonia next Monday.
Bellingham, a star player for Real Madrid, is one of the players Southgate is keeping an eye on before they get to St. George’s Park.
The player hurt his shoulder and couldn’t play in the La Liga game against Valencia over the weekend. Real says Bellingham won’t be able to play for two weeks.
Newcastle’s Callum Wilson is also likely to miss the game with a thigh injury. Brighton’s Lewis Dunk, on the other hand, missed yesterday’s draw against Sheffield United because of a groin injury.
After missing Chelsea’s exciting 4–4 draw with Manchester City yesterday because of a shoulder joint problem, Levi Colwill hopes to be cleared to play for England. Meanwhile, Conor Gallagher ended the game after getting long-term treatment for an ankle injury.
James Maddison, a defender for Tottenham, has already been taken off the team because he hurt his ankle badly in last Monday’s loss to Chelsea. It’s still unclear if Southgate will draft replacements for any players who have to pull out. Eddie Nketiah, Anthony Gordon, Eberechi Eze, Cole Palmer, and Jarrad Branthwaite are some of the players that Southgate is interested in.
Should Southgate decide to bring in more players, Raheem Sterling and James Ward-Prowse, two experienced players who are both in great shape for their clubs, will also be hoping to get the call.
