Judge Bellingham had to be pushed away from Harry Kane by the referee as Kane got ready to take a penalty for Bayern Munich.
At the Allianz Arena, Bellingham’s Real Madrid played against Kane’s Bayern in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Viıius Jnr. gave Madrid the lead against the flow of play.
But Bayern came back and tied the game with a goal from Leroy Sane.
The home team then had a chance to go ahead when Jamal Musiala was fouled in the box.
Captain Kane of England stepped up to take it, but a friend of his from England tried to talk him out of it.
“I’m sure he was trying to turn me off,” Kane said. “Thank goodness it was fine.”
“I have no idea what he said.” I saw him mumbling something.
“I need to find out what he really said.” I try to block out everything when I’m in my zone.
It looked like referee Clement Turpin had to push Bellingham away from Kane before the penalty could be given.
In the end, Bellingham left to let the England captain take his attempt.
Kane kept his cool and put the spot away by deflecting it past Andriy Lunin.
Kane’s penalty kick gave Germany a 2-1 lead, but Vinicius Jr. scored two goals, one of which was also a penalty, to set up the Bernabeu return next week.
Next month at Wembley, the winner will play either Paris Saint-Germain or Borussia Dortmund.
Kane, 30, moved from Spurs to Bayern for £105 million in the summer, but he still needs to win his first big trophy after Bayern’s bad luck in the Bundesliga.
He did say, though, “The Champions League is the biggest of them all, so if we can get that one, it would be a great season.” We still have a long way to go.
“I want to play in these big games.”
“This is why I went to the club.” It was a great mood, and I’m sure it will be the same at the Bernabeu.
“Real is one of the best teams in Europe, and they can beat you, like they did today.”
“We’re upset that we didn’t win, but next week it’s all on the line.”
In the second half, Bellingham was taken off, but Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said he had been having “cramps” and was “tired.”
He also said, “We didn’t play our best, but the second leg will be open and exciting.” There’s no telling what might happen.
