In Manchester United’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, Andre Onana got off to a good start. The goalkeeper for Manchester United postponed his trip to Ivory Coast for AFCON 2024 in order to participate in the final game.
Onana had to leave Old Trafford at around 6.30 p.m. to make the arduous trek to Africa right away. In light of this, the goalie, who was born in 1996, set off on a 4,800-mile journey from Manchester to join the Cameroon squad on a private aircraft before to tomorrow morning’s AFCON opening game against Guinea.
André Onana arrived at the international airport in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, and is now there.
Arriving at Yamoussoukro, André Onana connected with the group.
At 11 p.m., the 27-year-old guy shared a picture of himself on the aircraft on the social media site Snapchat. After a seven-hour travel, Mail Sport reports that Cameroon intends to sideline Onana for the Group C match in Yamoussoukro.
Fabrice Ondoa, a goalkeeper in the French third level and Onana’s relative, is anticipated to start for the Cameroon national team. In the AFCON 2024 group stage, Cameroon—captained by former West Ham and Liverpool midfielder Rigobert Song—will play Guinea, Senegal, and Gambia.
Senegal is the current winner, having defeated Egypt in the most recent AFCON to win the trophy for the first time.
