Klopp Intensifies Efforts to Secure £26M ‘Leader’ as Liverpool Targets Promising Signing Surpassing Lavia’s Abilities ⚽🔴

Klopp is currently trying to sign Liverpool’s “coveted” £26 million “leader,” and he’s better than Lavia.

Jurgen Klopp’s midfield still appears to be lacking one or two guys.

The midfield for Jurgen Klopp’s club still feels pretty lackluster despite three acquisitions this summer, and as the summer transfer window enters its last week, discussions may soon get heated.

What has changed after Andre’s transfer to Liverpool?

The Brazilian Serie A team Fluminense reportedly rejected the Reds’ €30 million (£25 million) offer for Andre this summer while they were in the Conmebol Libertadores quarterfinals.

You can find the most recent Liverpool transfer news HERE.

According to sources in Brazil obtained by Sport Witness, the 22-year-old’s Fluminense contract apparently contains a €40 million (£34 million) release clause, but the way this transaction has developed over the past few weeks suggests there is a reluctance to pay the price on the Anfield side.

Wataru Endo, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Alexis Mac Allister were all signed by Liverpool this summer. It could be a good idea to make another acquisition, though, given that Jordan Henderson and Fabinho were sold to Saudi Arabia and that James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s contracts are soon to expire.

Just how gifted is André?

The tough-tackling, “top-class roaming playmaker” has made 148 appearances for Fluminense alone, and talent scout Jacek Kulig lauded him as being in outstanding form for that team.

After a dismal season the previous year, Liverpool’s team is showing promise, but a top-notch holding midfielder has been crucial. The failure to sign Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, who both transferred to Chelsea despite a price agreement, harmed the Merseyside club.

If they can get the one-cap Brazil player for less than half the £58 million Chelsea paid to Southampton for Lavia, Klopp and sports director Jorg Schmadtke may have struck gold. This would be particularly true following the shrewd £16 million transfer of the devoted Endo from Stuttgart.

In his 16 games in the Brasileiro Serie A, Andre, who Kulig has described to as a “leader” this season, has made an average of 2.5 tackles per game, completed 94% of his passes, has an average rating of 7.14, and has won 64% of his ground duels and 70% of his dribbling attempts.

Lavia, on the other hand, had a league average score of 6.80 when representing Southampton the previous year. He also played in the Premier League for the relegated Saints club, completing 86% of his passes, averaging 2.1 tackles, and winning 58% of his ground battles.

Lavia is a fantastic talent, as shown by the fact that, according to FBref, he was among the top 6% of midfielders in the top five European leagues for blocks per 90 over the past year, but Andre might provide a more dynamic skill set to boost the Liverpool engine room.

In Men’s Next Eight divisions, the South American star actually ranks in the top 1% of midfielders for pass completion, the top 2% for passes attempted, and the top 7% for successful take-ons per 90, displaying a passing prowess and energy in the center that would complement Klopp’s high-octane system, so slick and irresistible when it’s scorching at its peak.

Lavia is without a doubt a tremendous talent, but now that the Belgian is a player for Stamford Bridge, Andre must be acquired as the sensible substitute. If Liverpool decide to make this move, it may well pay off handsomely as they attempt to return to the top of the league. Former striker Fred once praised Andre as his club’s most “coveted” asset.
