The players from Manchester United spent the night getting to know each other better at Tattu, a fancy Chinese restaurant located only three minutes walk from where the players from Manchester City were winning the PFA Awards on Tuesday night.

Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, who scored goals in Man United’s win over City in the FA Cup final, were on the lists for the PFA Men’s Young Player of the Year Award. However, City won all three awards, with Phil Foden winning the Men’s Players’ Player of the Year award.

Erling Haaland, Rodri, and City captain Kyle Walker were all on the shortlist for the prestigious award. They were also named to the men’s PFA Premier League Team of the Season.

All of them were at the awards show at the Manchester Opera House in Deansgate, while United stars went out for the night just around the corner.

After getting a late win over Fulham on Friday night, Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford, and Rasmus Hojlund were all seen going to the fancy restaurant.

Even Garnacho and Mainoo, who were up for a PFA Award, didn’t seem to want to go to the event. Instead, they went to a Chinese restaurant with their teammates.

Tattu on Gartside Street in Spinningfields has been a place where football players like to hang out in the past.

After City won the Treble in 2023, some of its stars, like Kevin de Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan, went to a restaurant in Manchester with backroom staff to celebrate. This was after celebrating all night in the city. 

In 2018, City’s champions went to the Chinese restaurant to celebrate their win again. The club reserved the whole restaurant for the party, which had 500 staff members.

United, on the other hand, wants to get back on track after a poor 2023–24 season, even though they beat their city rivals to win the FA Cup in May.

Erik ten Hag’s team has already been busy with transfers this summer. Last week, they announced that they had signed defenders Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich for a total of £60 million.

There are more and more doubts about the Brazilian’s future at the club after a lackluster season in the middle of 2023–24.

However, on Tuesday night, it was said that United wants to keep the player and see how he does this season after seeing how well he played in preseason. 

The Sun says that Ten Hag and his management team want to keep him, even though the 32-year-old star and a few others have been on the cutting room floor.

There are two more years on Casemiro’s deal, and United may want to keep him if Fulham pays £35 million this summer for Scott McTominay.
