The fight between Kylian Mbappe and Paris Saint-Germain hit its peak last season when the forward came home to find his tearsy younger brother Ethan.
Mbappe’s relationship with PSG had been tense for a while because the France captain was always linked with a move to Real Madrid. The star striker was even kicked off the first team for a while last season because he wouldn’t sign a new deal. Coach Luis Enrique was told to leave him out of the squad completely. While the Spanish manager kept picking his star forward, things got really tense when president Nasser Al-Khelaifi went after his brother Ethan’s spot on the team, which made the forward very angry.
(L’Equipe) says that before their last game of the season, Al-Khelaifi told the Spanish boss to keep Ethan off his team. Because Ethan had been kicked off the team, Mbappe found him crying in the locker room. He then got into a big fight with Al-Khelaifi over how his brother had been treated. A story says that Mbappe told Al-Khelaifi that he would not forgive the €55 million (£46m/$60m) in unpaid wages that the club is said to owe him during the rage.
Everyone was talking about Mbappe’s move to Madrid, but Ethan also left PSG for free and joined Lille. Since signing a three-year deal in the summer, the 17-year-old has played four times, but injuries have made it hard for him to get used to the club.
Even though Mbappe now plays for Real Madrid, the drama between him and PSG is far from over. The Frenchman has sued his old team to get the money he is supposedly due. The club was told to pay the fees that were still due, but they plan to take the case to a higher court because it is taking too long.
