Kylian Mbappe’s ostentatious celebration following France’s first goal against Belgium in the Euro 2024 round of 16 on July 1st has drawn criticism from a number of supporters.

Fans have drawn comparisons between Mbappe’s behaviour of insulting his opponents and the contentious actions of Jude Bellingham and Cristiano Ronaldo earlier in the tournament.

In Portugal’s first group game comeback victory, Ronaldo, 39, lifted his fist at Czech custodian Jindrich Stanek and yelled in midfielder Petr Sevcik’s ear.
