On Saturday, Kylian Mbappé of Real Madrid became the only player to score more goals in all five of Europe’s top games this year.
That much came from what he did when Real returned to play after the international break.
The team led by Carlo Ancelotti just beat Celta Vigo 2-0, putting them on 24 points and tied with Barcelona at the top of the La Liga table.
With an important second goal halfway through the second half, Vinícius Jr. proved to be the game’s deciding factor.
Mbappé, who was just named, scored the first goal, though, with a beautiful strike from outside the penalty area 20 minutes in.
In the process, the summer arrival in Madrid took back the title of the top scorer on the continent in 2024.
According to analysts Stats Foot:
Erling Haaland scored 29 goals in 2024, but Kylian Mbappé scored 30 goals, making him the top scorer for a club in one of the five best leagues in Europe.
