Some say that Kylian Mbappe was seen in a Swedish bar on Thursday, the same night that his France teammates beat Israel 4-1.
People in Mbappe’s home country don’t like that he skipped their Nations League games against Israel and Belgium so he could play for Real Madrid.
The forward hurt a muscle last month, but he came off the bench in his team’s Champions League loss at Lille last Wednesday to make his return to the field.
He played 71 minutes in Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Villarreal over the weekend, but he said he needed more rest to help his hamstring heal.
Didier Deschamps, the coach of France, left Mbappe out of the team he named because the 25-year-old wasn’t ready because he hadn’t played enough games.
And Mbappe was seen out and about with friends in Stockholm on Thursday night, after going to dinner at Chez Jolie.
According to Aftonbladet, the night didn’t end there because he went to a nearby bar.
There was a video released by the French Football Federation (FFF) on Monday in which Deschamps talked about Kylian. He said, “Kylian represents a lot of things.” The FFF also said that the goals of clubs and national teams will always be different. Also, let’s not forget that the club, not the league, is the boss.
It’s harder for Mbappe because he is now the captain of France after playing for PSG.
“(The job of captain) is on my mind.” “But, as I always do, the most important thing is to talk about it with the players,” coach Deschamps said.
“Obviously, since Kylian, who was our captain, and Antoine (Griezmann), who was our vice-captain, are both out, there will be other players for these two games.”
It’s more about whether I can find players who can handle this duty without it affecting their behavior or performance,” Deschamps said when asked how he chose the captain for the Nations League games.
This is why it’s important for me to get to know the players well—their personality and how sensitive they are—as a group.
In 2018, Mbappe helped France win the World Cup. He has scored 48 goals in 86 games for his country.
He scored 51 goals, which is third most for France all-time, behind Olivier Giroud (57 goals) and Thierry Henry.
