This weekend, Barcelona will host Mallorca in the La Liga. The first team has a chance to make a comeback after settling for a goalless draw against Athletic Club. The outcome of the game will be more important because Barcelona will then play Napoli in the second leg of the Round of 16 in the Champions League.
When it comes to points, the Blaugrana are third in La Liga, eight points behind leaders and archrivals Real Madrid. They can’t afford to lose any more points because of this. Unfortunately, a lot of people in their camp have been hurt in the last few weeks.
4-3-3 Barcelona’s expected lineup vs. Mallorca’s defence
Marc-Andre ter Stegen will be back in goal again. In the last game, he didn’t have much to do, but he will be very important for the team in the games to come. The right back spot will still be filled by Jules Kounde. In the attacking part, he will be expected to do more.
Pau Cubarsi, who is 17 years old, will stay in his defensive role and play centre back with Inigo Martinez, who will take the place of Ronald Araujo. After getting a yellow card last week, Araujo will not be able to play in the game.
The way Joao Cancelo played against Athletic Club was terrible, and he would like to do better as a left back.
In the middle
Andreas Christensen and Ilkay Gundogan will play a big part in the middle of the pitch without Frenkie de Jong and Pedri. Both of them got hurt in the last game and won’t be able to play. Fermin Lopez will likely be the third defender.
Launch an attack
After a great first look last week, Lamine Yamal will definitely start the game. Raphinha will likely play on the left wing, and Robert Lewandowski will be in charge of the attack. The three attackers need to be more clever and focused on the goal.
After being hurt, Ferran Torres might be able to come back and play in the second half.
