Lionel Messi made an amazing first game for Inter Miami.

Balon d’Or winner and best player of all time scored on a free kick from about 25 yards out in the 94th minute to give Inter Miami a 2-1 Leagues Cup win over Cruz Azul of Mexico.

With his left foot, he sent the ball over a wall of four Cruz Azul defenders and into the top left corner of the net. It was without a doubt the best moment in Inter Miami’s short history. After about a minute of play, the referee blew his whistle, and fireworks went off in the sky.

Thanks for coming, Leo. While sitting on the bench, he waved to the fans. While he was getting ready, he waved at them. while he was in the game and waved at them.

He saved his best moment for the end, as if that wasn’t enough. He ran to the right corner of the pitch and jumped into the arms of friends as he watched the ball sail into the net. This is something he has done about 800 times for his club and country.

When Messi came in early in the second half, Inter Miami already had a 1-0 lead. He gave a hug to midfielder Benjamin Cremaschi, who was being replaced, and then walked out onto the pitch. The crowd of about 21,000 people seemed to be standing, and almost all of them had their phones out to record the moment.

He hugged and talked with LeBron James on his way to the bench. James is another famous person who knows a thing or two about making a big move to Miami; he joined the Heat in 2010 and won his first two NBA titles in four years. He sat down and watched the start of his new era with his new team, dressed in a pink shirt, shorts, and socks.
