LiVARpool: Joe Cole maintains that Virgil van Dijk’s tackle of Conor Gallagher in front of the Kop against Liverpool should have resulted in a penalty for Chelsea

Social media users began to use the hashtag “LiVARpool” after a contentious moment during Liverpool vs. Chelsea.

In the twenty-third minute, Diogo Jota scored the first goal of the match by edging past Chelsea’s defense and into the back of the net.

However, Chelsea believed they should have been given a penalty after Conor Gallagher and Virgil van Dijk collided just minutes before Jota’s goal.

The Liverpool defender hauled down the Blues midfielder inside the box after he raced past him.
