Liverpool Faces Injury Concern with Darwin Nunez Ahead of Crucial Fixtures ⚽

Darwin Nunez is a new injury concern for Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool get ready to play again away at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Premier League match between Klopp’s Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers will take place at Molineux early on Saturday morning.

Nunez started up front in both of Uruguay’s World Cup qualifying matches this week, but in their loss to Ecuador, he was taken off at the break.

Nunez was taken off the field because of muscle strain, according to Uruguayan manager Marcelo Bielsa, who spoke after the game.

.

Nunez was removed from the game early, according to Bielsa, since he was unable to keep up with the team’s press because of the persistent issue.

Klopp will be in a pickle given Liverpool’s aggressive strategy, which is based primarily on relentless pressing.

Nunez started in place of Cody Gakpo against Aston Villa after scoring twice off the bench in the Reds’ 2-1 triumph over Newcastle United.

For the Netherlands this week, Gakpo has been in excellent form, scoring in both of their Euro 2024 qualifying games. He has the best chance of being reinstated to the starting lineup.

With two goals in Portugal’s 9-0 thrashing of Luxembourg, Diogo Jota also scored to strengthen his claim for playing time.

In addition to Nunez’s injury, Liverpool has lost three more players this week to international duty in South America.

It will also be determined how fit Alisson, Alexis Mac Allister, and Luis Diaz are because they all had to play on Tuesday night to qualify for the CONMEBOL World Cup.

In recent seasons, some players have started from the bench due to delayed returns from continental international commitments.

If Liverpool lose at least three more players before returning to league action, they would be much weaker.

Virgil van Dijk will not be available after being dismissed against Newcastle and having his one-game suspension for improper behavior extended.

Due to injury, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ibrahima Konate had to postpone their international meetup.

Alexander-Arnold may not travel to Wolves because he was injured against Aston Villa with 20 minutes remaining before halftime; nevertheless, Konate is hopeful of making a recovery.

Alexander-Arnold’s condition is now unknown, despite Klopp’s claim that he exited the game due to a minor hamstring injury. Scan results have not been made public.
