Darwin Nunez posted a picture of himself happy with a Barcelona player because it’s still not clear what will happen with his future at Liverpool.
Recently, Nunez has been unhappy with his job at Liverpool. On Sunday, after his team’s 4-2 win over Tottenham, he stormed off the field at Anfield.
After his team’s important win, he later deleted all material from his Instagram feed that had anything to do with Liverpool.
Even though no one knows why he is unhappy, he has been linked with a move away from the club just two years after signing for £85 million from Benfica, a time full of unrealized promise.
On Tuesday, he added to the rumors by posting a picture on Instagram with Ronald Araujo of Barcelona, which still didn’t include Liverpool.
Darwin Nunez was very happy in an Instagram picture with Ronald Araujo, a star player for Barcelona.
Nunez smiled as he stood in sunglasses and a cap. He plays with Araujo on the Uruguay national team.
As a summer exit from Liverpool grows more likely, Nunez has been linked with a move to Barcelona. The Spanish club is reportedly interested in him as a possible replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski, who is 35 years old, still has two years left on his current deal, but Barcelona is likely to try to trade him in the summer to meet a £175 million pay cap set by LaLiga earlier this season.
The Sun reports that Barcelona thinks Nunez can fill the spot and is ready to match Liverpool’s asking price for the Uruguayan forward.
Nunez is one of Liverpool’s best-paid players, but Lewandowski makes a lot more than him. Nunez’s pay is thought to be about £140,000 per week.
Reports from earlier this month said that Liverpool’s recruitment team wanted to sign Christopher Nkunku instead of the former Benfica star. Jurgen Klopp finally got them to agree to a club-record £85 million deal.
The Uruguayan striker has taken down all of his Instagram posts that were about Liverpool.
He has also been linked with a summer move to Barcelona to replace Robert Lewandowski.
Ian Ladyman of Mail Sport asked Nunez about what he did recently on It’s All Kicking Off!
“I can’t imagine why he would be unhappy with life in Liverpool,” he said. During his first few seasons, Jurgen Klopp has been there for him. From last season to now, we’ve talked a lot about him.
“He’s a huge fan of mine.” I think that you, co-host Chris Sutton, like him too. We know that his game isn’t perfect. He hits the frame, the post, and the bar with more force and anger than any other player we’ve seen.
