Liverpool Star Dominik Szoboszlai unveils the meaning behind his latest tattoos

”Now that I’ve been here for six months, I want to stay long enough and accomplish a lot before I do something that will last forever.”

In this second installment of Carlsberg’s Inked series, which examines the significance behind the tattoos on Liverpool players, Dominik Szoboszlai lays out his goals for Anfield.

The Hungary captain, who won the German cup twice while playing for his old team RB Leipzig, is thinking of getting a tattoo of the trophy.

And Szoboszlai wants to make such an impression on the Reds during his future career that he will eventually have to make the same kind of decision about getting silverware engraved on his body.

When asked about the possibility of having a tattoo that would symbolize his newfound connection to the team, he responds, “A trophy, this is the thing,” per Liverpoolfc.com.

“I’ve been thinking for a long time that I should be the one to receive the German Cup trophy from my time playing in Leipzig because I was there when they won it for the first time ever and I won it twice.” Though I’m still debating it, I might end up doing it even if I [win] more. We’ll see.

“I require further time. I want to stay here for as long as possible and accomplish a lot before I do something that will last forever. I’m here for six months.

The No. 8 goes on, saying that hopefully this is only the beginning. My goal is to stay here for as long as possible, work hard, and bring home as many awards as I can.

“As of right now, the season is just getting started even more because we are in the middle of it. Our goal is to remain at the top of the table at the conclusion of the league.

Throughout the most of his first season with the team, Szoboszlai has been a constant in Jürgen Klopp’s starting lineup, making 26 appearances and tallying four goals thus far.

Even if his tenure on Merseyside is still in its early stages, the impact of his relationship with supporters is already being felt strongly.

The midfielder claims, “It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world.” “The people are amazing; they always support us and show how much they love the club.”

Naturally, there are moments when it isn’t as effective [on the field], but we are constantly improving. It’s simply this day; we don’t do it because we want to. There are also certain days when we are unable to give it our all, and even then, it might not be sufficient.

“But here’s the thing: [they] are still around, having fun, and [I’m] grateful to have supporters like that.”

The majority of Szoboszlai’s tattoos are on his left arm and include football and family as common themes.

When he was about fifteen years old, the collection started, with the first entry being the result of a friendly wager against his father, Zsolt.

“My dad and I had an agreement. I won a bet involving football, and I was able to have [a tattoo]. So it was not a sly one,” he explains.

“I had no doubts about it. As well as for the others [since]. I never claimed that I regretted doing it. It’s there, with me [for] some reason, and I enjoyed it or it helped me get here in some way. Hopefully, more will arrive.

His body art features inspirational sayings like “never give up” and “great things take time,” as well as a remark attributed to Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.

They are positioned next to his parents’ birth dates and a clock that symbolizes his younger sister’s birthday.

Szoboszlai remarks of tattoos, “I just liked them since I was a kid.” “My mom and dad both have some as well. Small ones, like my sister’s and my name, belong to my mother. My father owns a few. Thus, I was fond of them right away.

“The family will always be there, regardless of how things are going at the moment. It works like this with me. Three individuals are certain to be there, but there are probably more people you trust or believe will be there through good times and bad.

Although my sister is just seven years old, she will likely be there for me even if she is unable to assist if I have any issues. And my parents and dad. Of course, you also have other family members or people you seek out that you can completely trust.

“But my parents are the only people I really trust 100% of the time.”
