In order to defeat Wolves and maintain their perfect record, Liverpool needed to come from behind. Jurgen Klopp’s team achieved just that at Molineux by defeating Wolves 3-1 after giving up an early goal.
Liverpool staged a second-half comeback to defeat Wolves 3-1 at Molineux, maintaining their unblemished start to the season.
Hwang Hee-chan’s goal put Jurgen Klopp’s team down 1-0 after just seven minutes, but they rallied after the half with goals from Cody Gakpo, Andy Robertson, and a late Hugo Bueno own goal.
After drawing their opening match against Chelsea, Liverpool went on to defeat Bournemouth, Newcastle, Aston Villa, and now Wolves to move into third place in the Premier League standings, just two points behind reigning champion Manchester City. Klopp details Gravenberch plan
new signature Ryan Gravenberch, the fourth midfielder Liverpool recruited during the summer, made the tiniest of cameo appearances against Wolves as he received his Liverpool debut. Klopp has defined his ambition for the Dutchman.
“I think definitely in the future he has the potential to play as a No. 6,” remarked Klopp prior to the Wolves game. Alexis Mac Allister’s only flaw is that he can play the position, but how would you characterize him as a classical 6? Most likely not. However, the position in football has evolved over time.
“He is so talented that I prefer not to discuss the areas in which he still needs improvement. All of them have capabilities, and while he is aware of the need for improvement and makes an effort to do so, only the innate abilities are present right away. Everything else develops over time. He is an 8, he can play as a 10, and eventually, he will be able to play as a 6. They just need to get acclimated to the various places and responsibilities, just like Curtis [Jones] could play as a 6.

Nunez tipped to thrive
Due to his absence from the starting lineup against Wolves due to Uruguayan national team duty, former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch is anticipating big things from Darwin Nunez this season following strong performances against Newcastle and Aston Villa prior to the break.
Coming in the same window as Haaland, City and Liverpool are fierce rivals, and the question was, “Who was better?” is what “killed him a little bit.” Crouch elucidated. Nunez was struggling with the contrast as Haaland got out to an amazing start. All of that is gone this year.
“This season will show the true Darwin Nunez to the public since it’s a new one and he’s scoring goals. He was scoring goals, but there were also occasions when he appeared off-balance. He exudes confidence this year, and confidence is what it takes to win games like Newcastle on your own with top-notch finishes.
Andrew Robertson celebrates scoring for Liverpool ( Image: Getty Images)
Robertson hails Liverpool comeback
Trent Alexander-Arnold was hurt and Virgil van Dijk was suspended, but Robertson led from the front as Liverpool’s captain and scored in his 200th game for the team.
When asked what was said during the half, Robertson told TNT Sports: “I can tell you some of it, but maybe not all of it. The Reds staged an amazing comeback after falling behind 1-0. Look, we can make all kinds of excuses about guys traveling halfway across the world and then the early kick-off, but the first half was simply subpar.
“They had a better squad, and they generated more opportunities while we committed too many errors. However, we came out in the second half with a somewhat different formation and had players pushing higher up the pitch.
